The first time, he took it back to the "mothership" and it turned out to be the circulating pump, and somehow the circulating fluid got contaminated with some type of granular material. Required complete flushing, replacement of the pump, and I think some valves.
Interesting thing is that it was only three years old, they bought it new, and the dealership they bought it from had done all the maintenance. They stressed that he had to add only the manufacturer approved fluid. He showed them the container, and they said, yep, that's the right stuff . . . .
The second time about two years later, repaired by their dealership, and it was the circulating pump again, and replacing some lines that looked like they had been "kinked" during original install by the manufacturer. No problems since then, it's been about two years, but WOW! Roughly $17,000 in repairs in the first 5 years of ownership, just for the heat . . .
We'd absolutely LOVE to have heated floors . . . but not $17k worth of love!
