Backup camera problem

I just purchased an older MH ('97). The backup camera is losing it's will to live. The monitor very faded and the contrast and brightness adjustments don't do anything. Does anyone know there a cheepo wireless alternative to replacing the wired unit?

We ordered wireless system from them when we had our 30' MH, they said it would work great but it didn't so they sent us new transmitters and again, no luck. It would flicker on and off so we ordered the unit that we wired direct and had trouble with that unit. Good luck!

Barry, how did you route your wire from back to front. I have to replace my cable and it goes through the ceiling. Dont want to take my ceiling apart to do this. I suppose the cable was laid while coach was being assembled. And is probably attached to something in the ceiling so removal would be quite difficult.
Present cable has a short in one of the pins going to monitor.
Thanks
Don
Oh the short is in the plug (cable) itself that attaches to the back of the monitor

Don I replaced my Monitor, camera and cable. I had to run the cable down the back and underneath to the engine (gas) in front.

If you don't mind splicing and soldering, you can reuse the old cable. I would buy inexpensive camera/monitor from ebay and reuse the old cable. Should be able to do it all for under $100.

I recently replaced mine with a color LCD system. See my write up in the Winnebago section. Hope you can benefit from my experience.

It was not a wireless but wired. the camera was shown on their website,(brothers) as having audio, video and rear camera BUT when I got it it did not show a mirror image, and did not have audio. when I complained about their site picture depicting the standard multiple connectors for video and audio they stated that they had not updated the website yet.

they offered me at additional cost what they had in the picture but i declined and opted to keep what I had which was sub par.

subsequently I purchased a very nice product from Rear View with true reverse (mirror) coverage and a great picture too. that package is available for about $200 camera and display
