Bad odor coming from sink water

Friend just got a 2017 Fleetwood Pace Arrow and we are doing a first trial trip working everything. Hot water has foul odor. Trying to drain heater water now but should we put anything in to smell better. Brand new and never used. Any ideas?

I would sanitize it including the HW tank. Rinse twice and see what happens. YMMV.

A good dose of bleach clears out a lot of things.

Bacteria love to grow in your hot water tank (why you should drain it between trips). Sanitize your system with bleach and include the hot water tank. After a couple of good rinses, you should be good. Still stinks, do it again and let it sit longer.

Check your water heater anode.
