Balancers to use for Class A tires
I am getting ready to replace the tires on my class A. The size is 2557022.5. I would like to know what everyone is using for tire balancers on their RV?

Balancing is not magic! You can have them balanced by a tire installer and they will but lead weights on the wheels to correct the balance.
You can add something like centramatic that adds an extra small wheel to each tire or dual set. This wheel has small beads in it that correct for any out of balance in the vertical direction. They provide NO correction for any imbalance in the horizontal.
You can put beads in your tires. These beads correct for vertical imbalance and because they have the width of the tire to work with correct to a small degree horizontal imbalance.
Dynabeads and Counteract are two of many companies that sell beads. Again...internal balancing with beads is sort of magic but not really. Dynabeads and Counteract charge a lot of money for their product. They work equally well. Internal balancing has been around for a LONG time. People have added things from water to golf balls. All worked. Water/antifreeze is a bad idea because it deteriorates the inside of the tire. Things like golf balls are so big they don't distribute well to counter the tire imbalance.
I've used several things...Currently I have steel .177 caliber BB's...Yep BB gun BB's. Competition grade non plated BB's cost ~$25 to do all 6 tires. The motorhome drives as smooth as the very best tire shop balance...maybe a little smoother. Dynabeads and Counteract will cost about $150 to do your six tires. I put 8 oz in the front tires and 10 oz in the rear. For your larger tire you might want to go 10 oz in the front the 12 oz in the rear.

Owners have used a certain grade and oz. of air soft BBs with good success as well. Many vids on utube a lot are for 4x4 tires. IRV2 Search doest work right on my phone app anymore.

Centramatic for me on steer tires. I don't balance the drive tires.

I've been running Centramatics for 15 years. They balance the entire wheel assembly, every time you drive the coach. Even as your tires wear, they will continue to adjust. For BEST performance, have your new tires spun balance with lead weights and then add the Centramatics. That way they're not trying to correct some huge imbalance. You should always watch when they balance large tires/wheels with a spin balance. It the wheel takes a lot of weight, ask the installer to rotate the tire on the rim and try to reduce the weight that is needed. Most places know to do this.
If you stay with a diesel pusher, you can typically move them to another coach.

We use centramatics and also balance the wheels for $25. Very smooth.

I love Centramatics and use them on my truck. They allow me to run out my steers to the very end without cupping or out of roundness. I was going to buy them for our RV but my long time tire guy talked me out of it. His logic was that Centramatics don't really do much on a well balanced fresh tire. They really earn there keep during the last 50% of the tires tread life. Something the vast majority of RV tires never get to before they age out.

Centramatics is the way to go. I've used them on my Ram 3500 and now on my MH. I would not have it any other way.

In every one of my 4 RVs, for over 20 years, I have used "Equal" in each tire. This stuff works great and is about $15/tire. Just throw the bag in each tire when they put it on the rim and immediately it will auto-balance your tires as you drive.
And for the life of your tire you will always have a perfect balance in all tires! This will result in a better ride and longer tire life... even though that's not a concern for most of us since we will never put 80,000+ miles on our RV in 10 years time.
Note: When buying Michelin "Steer" Tires called X-Line Energy, I think they recommend using the small bag, but I can't remember. You should check, and btw, I would never buy the Michelin RV tire called Multi-Energy Z or whatever they are marketing to the RV these days. So definitely buy the "Steer" tire and use them on all 6 wheels. You will love the ride, performance in curves, and what these steer tires hug the road.
calvinheinly: Are you sure you have 255-70-22.5?
My OEM tires came with 295-75-22.5 and I replaced them with Michelin "Steer" tires 275-80-22.5. There are common sizes with the Winnebago/Freightliner coaches.

Don't by a "H" rated tire when a "G" rating will do, because you want to run your tires in the upper PSI range. My RV is 32,000 lbs and the "G" rating covers my front axle weight at 115PSI, and I run my rear tires at 105-110PSI.

I'm looking to add the Centramatics to my MH. I plan on installing them on my steer tires but am unsure about drive tires. Do I need them on the rear tires?
