The ole' balancing debate orbits around kind-a like the sun, on just a bit less frequency. But, you'll find there's guys that like just about, all ways of balancing. It used to be the majority would favor weights. But, it may be leaning to more use of beads, powders, things like those and, the ever rotating balls --- Balance Masters. Take your pick. To me, weights have always worked. It didn't matter what car, truck, motor home, motorcycle etc. weights worked just fine and still do for me.
Now, as for your rears. Well, that too is always some form of a small debate. I look at it this way. A tire is a tire. If you've purchased (6) for us non-tag axled drivers, or, (8) for the tag folks, and have two of them balanced for the front, and those two took a fair amount of weight to get them correct, what makes you (or anyone in this situation) think that the rears, DON'T NEED BALANCING????
No one can tell when two tires are mounted on wheels, then mounted on one side of the coach, just where the "heavy" spots are on each wheel/tire combo. You could quite possibly end up with the heavy spots of both wheels and tires, on one side of the coach, in the same spot. And that will a DOUBLE out of balance situation. Now, is it going to effect the ride? Well, very difficult to tell. Those out-of-balance duals, will definitely still try and shake, without a doubt. But, the dampening to that shaking, will be held at somewhat "check", due to all the weight and logistics of the rear suspension.
Never the less, they're still TRYING to shake that coach. And, if one is REAL LUCKY and, happens to find the REALLY RARE sections of roads in America that are actually SMOOTH, it's potentially possible that you'd feel them pretty good then. It's such a small cost, when they're off the coach and being mounted on wheels, that to me, it just seems worth it to do it. Then I know that, I've done my part in trying to keep this rig running as smooth as possible.
