Basement door hinges?

Our basement doors are hinged on top so when open stick out like wings. Does anybody know if there are kits that I could use to convert a couple of the doors to open and move up parallel to the side of the MH? I'm tired if banging my head on the doors.

that's a good idea however I don't know if the door itself was built with reinforcement on the 'sides'. Most doors are very light weight with reinforcement along the current hinge placement.

The inner panels on my doors are screwed on so if needed I can get to the inside of the doors and add reinforcement. I believe I can frabricate what I need but for this it seems easier if I can find kits somewhere.
Maybe I'll try to find a greyhound bus graveyard somewhere. I've seen some of those doors open up parallel to side of the bus.

IMO, it would be a lot more useful (and likely a lot less expensive) to convert to side-hinged doors that will also work below the slide-outs.

My rear engine hatch does what you're talking about. And I've seen Prevosts--or maybe it was a Newell?? with basement doors that do what you're talking about. I don't think you would want to install it under one of your slides, however.

rexall has the flip up doors that you describe and they come with a plastic clip to hold them open Be careful and don't open them up over some heat exaust vent.
