Bathroom remodel
I am about to embark on my first remodel job in my 2005 fleetwood rev 40e. I want to make my shower bigger. im lucky to have the room so instead of pulling out the enclosure and trying to find one that fits and dealing with plumbing I've decided to surround the neo-angle shower pan with a 2X6 and cap it with corian over lapping the pan. then put in a bigger glass enclosure. then replace the carpet with wood flooring. Does anyone see and issue with this?

The only issue I can see is to make sure you slightly tilt the corian into the shower pan so it does not collect any water and seal it well to the lip of your existing pan. It should give you plenty of extra elbow room. Several years ago I enlarged the shower in a fifth wheel we had by replacing the entire stall. It was actually rather easy after finding a stall that fit the space and met my wife's approval. Only plumbing I had to move was the drain that was accessible from a storage compartment. I look forward to seeing you finished product.

I'd be a little hesitant on any kind of wood flooring in a bath. The stuff really doesn't like water.

Thanks for everyone's reply
Ernie,
I was going to use pressure treated and seal it with red guard to waterproof the area before putting down corian and flooring. Its the stuff they use to seal around home shower pans. Sound good?
I'm planning on making the 2X6 just a little higher. Then the neat thing about corian is you can heat it and 'bend' it to slant it into the shower pan. I'm also planning on using the allure flooring from HD. Says its waterproof. I can 't stand carpeting in a bathroom. Other options? Wasn't sure how to tile the area. Do u use hardy backer in an rv?

I have used Red guard many times on old concrete floors. You could use the hardibacker for the walls, but the corian maybe stiff enough so you won't need it.
I think my thoughts on Allure have been expressed here before.
If it is just the bath, you can get a sheet of vinyl with the pvc back. This material is easy to work with, comes in 12 foot widths- so you won't have any seams. It stays put.

Thanks Ernie,
I'll look into the PVC backed vinyl. thanks for the advice. the area I need to do is small. just around the shower. around the toilet it has the only way I can describe it is painted flooring like in a garage with the paint specks in it. ill know more when i start ripping the carpet out...

You should also note that Lowes and Home Depot will not stand behind the Allure or any other similar product when used in an RV. Look at the packaging. Pretty sure it states it on the packaging. I'd go with vinyl in a heart beat.
