As far as replacing the coach batteries I figured the same thing. Since I don't plan on dry camping that much, there at the bottom of my list for now. I used them quite a bit in the driveway the last 2 weeks and they didn't seem to discharge much.
Some things that draw from the coach battery, either singly, or in concert with the house batts:
  1. Tranni memory - keeps track of how you drive
  2. Engine settings memory - keeps detailed account of sensors and operation
  3. Radio memory
  4. Propane detector
  5. CO detector
  6. Step circuitry
  7. And other stuff as the whim of the engineers dictated...

Often there are draws on the coach batteries even if you have the 'Salesman's Switches' turned off. I have heard of people spending hours trying to track down every one, usually to give up. There are many phantom draws (sometimes called Vampire Draws) on both sets of batts. If you must prevent it, just disconnect the grounds. If you're living with it on shore power, don't worry about it.
