Batteries
It looks like I may need to replace the house batteries in our MH. I now have 4 Powertron P2000 6VDC wired in series-parallel.
Sams Club has a price of $89.95 on the Duracell GC2 with the same ratings at the P2000. Anyone have any opinions on or experience with these batteries?

I have not used those particular batteries, but I have purchased several Duracell batteries from my local Batteries plus Bulbs store. They have all given me good service to date and at a very good price. I have both the chassis and house battery in my Coachman from Duracell with no complaints at all.
I want to upgrade my 8D-14 house battery in my Country Coach and will likely go to Batteries and Bulbs when I do. Good luck.

So many of the batteries on most retail shelves are made by one of a few manufacturing plants. They do make cheaper and more expensive versions of the same shell and label them as different brands. I did all this research on the last batteries I bought and ended up getting my batteries from Menards. You can spend a lot and get better batteries and I'm sure someone with more knowledge can chime in. But best bang for the buck check out this video.

Batteries Plus has these same batteries but quite a bit higher than Sams Club.

Joe,
The last set of house batteries I did get from Sams, that was ~+6 years ago (maybe more). I believe they are Duracell. They have held up well and as of now still to be holding a charge. I checked all the batteries about a month ago with hydrometer and they all tested good.
Next set I may get the AGM batteries but they are not always in stock. I just checked the 2 Sam's Clubs close to me and they were out of stock.

Jim, the AGM's would be nice but these will probably outlive me!

I'm on my 3rd set of 4, in 18 years, of Sams Club 6 volt batteries. We use them heavily in the winter while off grid in the desert. That's less than $100 a year for good battery power.

I've had very good luck with Duracell battys (made by East Penn) in boat & MH.
I used to use FLA but have switched to AGM and glad I did.
Most recently installed 8 - 6V AGM GC2
MY 3 East Penn AGM 8Ds in boat have done very well over 7 yrs and still going strong. I won't replace w/ 8D but plan on 6 - GP 31 AGM when needed.
[EDIT] Here is what I found on the internet - must be true???
I sell powerton batteries. I have sold over 500 batteries in the last 6 mths with no issues. My distributor in town has sold over 1500 since february. They are sold by Safestart. The Safestart rep told me they are Korean made batteries. That is all the info I have of now. I havn't seen one of these DPI selectable mode chargers, but the rep said the powerwise charger is OK to use.
I'll stick w/ East Penn / Duracell made in USA

If you are same group number, same size case, same specs chances are good that the Duracell and Powertron are made by the same company, just different branding.
FWIW I just replaced my 6 house AGM batteries with Duracell, purchased from Batteries + Bulbs. Same specs as the OEM NAPA batteries but $50/ea lower cost. Both made by Deka, just different brand labels.

Joe, I have used the batteries you mentioned and they are the best flooded batteries for the $. I don’t think you can go wrong.
However after using flooded for years, I went with the Sam’s Duracell AGMs in 12/19 I think. I have no more water checking and best thing is the clean tray with no more corrosion. I bought them at the annual time Sam’s has a price special, which I think was -$25 each. So, you might watch for that annual sale! Guess I’ll see if the longevity is better, but I love the low maintenance. Good luck.

I used two sets of FOUR of the Duracell GC2 lead acid (from Batteries Plus) over years of ownership of my last RV. The second set was in the RV and about three years old when I sold the RV. They seemed to be showing the first signs of aging. In my opinion they seemed average, but they all worked acceptably.
thx Dale

It was time to replace the batteries in our coach and after doing a lot of research I went with with NAPA batteries. I figured anywhere we traveled there is almost always a NAPA store if we ever had a battery issue.

Joe, FYI; I bought new batteries in 2019. I listened to the talk of adding mineral oil to each cell, which was supposed to stop water from evaporating. Well, that did not work for me, and it voided the battery warranty.
