I have a freighliner chassis. I had a tire leaking on the drivers side rear. I took it to the tire shop that services motorhomes and diesel trucks. they worked on the nut that holds the hub cap on for about 20 minutes then came and got me to tell me they could not get the nut off to remove the hubcap and get to the lugnuts. I stood out there and they tried a bit more then told me they thought the bolt ( The one the nut screws onto) was spinning inside the wheel and that I would have to take it to a garage to get that removed. I told them ok and got ready to leave. They told me they were still going to fix the tire. When I asked how they said they were going to just break it down in place. They got their tools and took the tire off with the wheel still on the MH. They decided dirt and corrosion on the wheel so they cleaned the wheel up and put the tire back on and has not leaked since. A few months after this happened I was reading a post about the nut on freighliners chassis being a left hand thread. I saw a tool on ebay that was about ten bucks and showed which way to turn the nut to get it off. I bought the tool and tried it on the nut they could not get off. Sure enough they were turning it the wrong way. It came right off. Next time I go to that tire dealer I am going to stop and show them the tool I bought and tell them they need to learn what a left hand thread is.
