Angry Battery Cut Off Switch

I have a 2006 Ho;iday Rambler Endeaver I just picked up in Texas and on the way home the radio and 12v receptacles cut out on a rough stretch, but came back on.After getting home the switch seemed to work fine the first couple of days but now will not turn any 12v power on.Checked breakers and chassis cut off but nothing!Anyone have any ideas?

Are your dash radio and 12v receptacle connected to the chassis battery or house battery?

That connection will determine which battery cut off switch you need to work with. However it sounds like the cut off switches are working.

You have checked all the connected (chassis?) fuses and they are ok.

Have you checked the connections at the battery terminals?
(This should not be a problem if some other 12v lights on that battery work or other chassis electronics work ok.)

If all the above is good, then it sounds like a power or ground wire in the daisy chain is loose.

Check out this extesnive area. The salesman switch is a known issue. The problem may be the large solenoid located in the distribution box below the driver in the outside compartment.

Thanks YC1

Is this solenoid operated by the battery cut off switch by the door because that switch seems to be the problem as it does not light up and can not here a solenoid click like in my old Diplomat?

It is on my 08 Endeavor. And seems to be quite a problem for some. Many people have bypassed the solenoid which is fine if you are in it all the time but I am in and out constantly and somehow always leave a light on. Not an issue if on shoreline but on battery it can draw them down.

With a voltmeter or simple test light you can find out in 5 minutes. Find a good ground and don't get tricked by the nice connections inside the box until you are absolutely sure. Reach over with the ground lead and touch your tire rim or drag out the shoreline cord and hook to the ground lug on it. The touch the large bolts on each side of the solenoid with large wires connected. Voltage on one side and not the other means it is off or not working.

There are some good posts and suggestions in the Monaco forum - search for Salesman switch.
I bypassed mine a couple of years ago due to constant problem and finally the solenoid didn't work at all.
It is easy to bypass, 10-20 minute procedure, and doesn't make any problems down the road - at least not for me so far.
