Battery Isolation (solenoid) Relay Question

I have a 2004 Fleetwood American Tradition Coach. This solenoid is very hot to the touch. I plan to replace it. My question is (besides the Aux Start manual dash switch) what else can cause this solenoid to energize/de-energize? Does the Battery Control Center have any control over this relay?

The isolation solinoid should be engaged whenever your engine is running to charge your house batteries. It disengages when the engine turns off to prevent the starting battery from being depleted along with the house bank.

The isolation solenoid, on my coach , has three functions.
Interconnect the battery banks when boost button pushed.
Interconnect the battery banks with engine running, so alternator power charges all batteries.
Interconnect the battery banks when on shore power or gen set , to charge all the batteries.
When activated, it does get hot, if all functions are operating, it’s designed to handle the heat .
JMHO: unless it fails to perform one of it’s duties, it’s ok.

Thank you, this is very helpful. I have my coach on shore power when stowed. I'll unplug it and see if the solenoid cools off. Otherwise it's performing all 3 functions.
Best Regards.
