Bay door latch, door won't open

I have a 2004 Travel Supreme Class A.

I opened my water bay today and when I shut it, it didn't latch. I gave it a hard push to shut it and now it won't open! The handle feels "dead" like its got nothing to pull on.

Since its the water bay, I don't have any compartments next to it with access.

I'm attaching images of another bay door to show what kind of latch it is.

The designers must have thought of this kind of thing happening????? okok i guess not.

Anyway, any help is appreciated!

Looks like you could use a coat hangar wire...bend a hook on it, push up flat to wall, turn 90 when above wire, pull down. Hope you hook the wire. If wire is out of that clamp it may take some fishing to grab the latch.

Ten minutes max effort...one beer. Repeat as necessary.

Good Luck
