Beaver batteries

1998 Beaver Monterey with Cat 330or 300hp

owner - really dumb but knows his limitations

seems like my batteries are in need of replacing and I have no confidence the present set up is what needs to be there.(a lot of reasons for that statement) The tray has some rust and will not be easy to roll out. Looking for battery suggestions and a wiring diagram would be nice for my next door electrical engineer neighbor. He has been a huge help so far. We just started this project so your help will be a great guide to a working solution. Love to hear suggestions for a work plan to buy, install and get it right without damage to the electrical system.

Here's a link to what I did thi spring - it's a Newmar but battery trays are somewhat generic.
https://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/bat...rb-484735.html

I'm assuming this is for house battys not chassis.
How many and what type are in there now?
What are your concerns?
If changing why? and What are you trying to accomplish?

Lots of talk about LiFeO, AGM vs Flooded but no one right answer for everyone or all situations... need a little more info.

Before you do anything be sure to take pics of the existing AND diagram and mark all of the cables / diagram so you know exactly what goes where going back in.

As Don says, if you could post pictures of what you have now , we can see if there is anything wrong, and give ideas for improvements . .

Answer to your horsepower question , could well be on a decal on the valve cover . Mine is .
