Been thinking about moving up in length of Motorhome.

Hey everyone. Well is been awhile since I posted. Been busy!
I have been kicking around the ideal of getting a 42’ or 45’ instead of the 40’ That I have.
Also thinking about upping the quality of it.
Any thoughts would be appreciated,

If your Revolution is like our friends it's 41' long not 40'. Our 42' Monaco is really 43' long.
Difference between our rigs is they have a bath & half & 400 hp. Ours has a tag axle & 500 hp and little better mpg.

Mine has the bath and half so probably 41. With the 400. I like the tag.
Mine being an 08 I was also wondering about trade value after 10 years.

You would probably be money ahead to sell your motorhome in lieu of trading it in, trading it in often cuts your bargaining power.

The 42' was great, the 45' is nicer. We travel heavy and appreciate the room. Both had Tag axles and it is a lot more stable in unfavorable conditions. They also come with a little more maintenance costs. We do not camp in most state parks due to size restrictions. I say all things considered, go for it.

Another thing more room. King sized bed. Tag axle.
Another thought was maybe a lift for my Harley?!

In some states like Utah, you pay sales tax on the difference between trade-in and new purchase. If your trade-in is $100,000, that tax is $6,500 you just saved on your new purchase. YOUZER!

I sold my 83yo widowed mom's 25yo 32' DP motorhome for her. A few Lookie Lous, and a guy wanting to write a personal check. It ended with 140 $100 bills in hand in a very bad situation. Be careful.

All sound reasons. King size bed was a major factor in choosing our floor plan.

I pay 2.9 sells tax. Worst case 3.9.
I also had a kinda weird situation when we sold our toy hauler.

I was in the same place as you a little over 1 year ago when I decided to trade
my 07Rev in on a new coach. Looked at Newmar and Entegra at 3 different
dealers. I really wanted a 16 Aspire (17's were already on the dealers lot)and there were only a few left, tried to make a deal to trade mine and got an offer of 76,000 this was from all 3 dealers so I gave up and listed it here and one of the national websites. I got 1 call so needless to say I gave up and have been doing upgrades to mine it is still a great motorhome and worth a lot more than
76000 even 1 year later. Good Luck

I wonder if there’s a “magic “ cut off point in years?

I got a 10 year negative at 1 dealer who said they would just wholesale it to a used motorhome lot. The other 2 said nothing about 10 year old in fact both made positive comments about the condition of my revolution but they just were not willing to give more on trade. 1 dealer would consign it but I had to buy the new motorhome and then when mine sold they would give me the money.
