Best way to clean full wall slide out roof?

We have a Newmar Canyon Star with the full wall slide on the drivers side of the coach. I'd like to clean the roof of the slideout. My problem is that the awning that covers the slide out, restricts the amount of space between the roof and the underside of the awning making it difficult to get something in there to perform the cleaning. I've also considered cleaning it while it's retracted or "IN" and reaching up over the wall top inside the coach. If I stand on the drivers seat while the slide is "IN", I can see along the whole length of the roof...but again space makes it tough to get in there.
Wondering what others do to clean this area? Is the awning cover easily removeable (and of course easy to re-attach) to allow cleaning?

I use this with a rag wrapped around/tied with a rubber band. It extends to something like 9' and I use the same to wash the coach.

Is the space smaller than a painting pole with a mop head attached.
You can pull microfiber cloths on ropes from end to end easier with two people.
We have used both methods at work to clean hard to reach areas or product chutes..

Thumbs up

I just use the washing pole with the wash head on it . Get on ladder ,push pole though opening and wash top . Just use the mop head damp ,not soaking wet .

I only washed mine once, that was on a 5er. I used an old blanket rolled up, tied a rope to each end. Tossed one rope through under the slide awing, put DW on one rope, me on the other. Worked out pretty good.
I had a 5G pail of car wash N water, rinsing was easy with a hose.

Pool brush with telescoping handle and a hose. Or, an extendable truck wash brush with built-in valve and hose attachment.

You will probably have to pull additional topper out from the roll (two people required) and then clamp each side to prevent retraction of the topper. That way you'll have slack and can slide something under with greater ease.

A 3M Doodlebug scrubber on a pole will fit in a low clearance spot. Use a white pad, not brown. Other brands are available for cheaper.
