That wasn't the case with the coax to my TV antenna. Wire lasted about 5 years before disintegration of the outer jacket. I expect my fiberglass roof to last a lot longer than that.

Have had excellent luck with the Flex Seal tape. Holding my roof together for over 2,000 miles from Illinois to Seattle. Works so well that I am going back to Iowa in October to get it repaired.Click image for larger version

The BriteTek roof on our last DSDP was 13 years old as was the antenna wire laying on the roof. No trouble even after 13 years with either the cable or roof.

Forgive my youthful ignorance but, what the heck is a we boost? UV rays will degrade the wire insulation in pretty short order.

At the hardware store they sell "wire mold" or something to that effect.

It is a plastic surface mount molding for covering wires run on top of wall.

The sun may attack this as well but it can be used on top of wire to give additional protection.

All needs to be secured.

Cheap UV protection is a coat of white outdoor paint or roof coating as it is made for this.

But if just a coax cable then get a high grade cable to start with...Marine grade made for outdoor salt air...

Glad for you. My experience was different. Guess we'll have to let the OP decide what kind of experience he will have.

Best way to secure a wire to the roof?

It depends on the grade of cable jacket. Cheap indoor cable will degrade in the sun sure but outdoor cable will not. Otherwise every rooftop sat dish or antenna on a s&b would have problems. My house had a 50’ run along the gutters for 15 years with no issues.
My solar wiring on the mh roof is uv rated cableand exposed with dicor blobs every 3-5 feet ( stick on cable ties covered in dicor )and it’s just fine. Don’t use cheap indoor cable and it won’t be a issue.

I was going to suggest UV rated wire but covering sounds good.

Did you put screws in to hold them or rely on the adhesive?

There is metal wire mold. Good idea.
