Big Foot Levelers

Hi All -
Big Foot leveling issue. 2016 Nexus Bentley. We live in it full time and travel alot, which means we have leveled many times in the 4+ years. When parked on asphalt, concrete, packed gravel - no issues, even if very unlevel to start. We are currently parked on deepish gravel. We leveled, and the rig seems to be torked. We can't open the basement doors on the driver's side because they hit the slides, and the awning over the door is higher then ususal (we can't usually put that awning all the way out because the door hangs up). So we put the slides back in, raised the jacks, put boards underneath and re-leveled. Same issues. We last had this happen when parked on grass in Forks, WA last year. We have also developed a hydraulic leak on the left rear, for which we will be seeking professional assistance. Any helpful or funny thoughts?

The leak means you'll be torqued shortly after you achieve level if the leak is out of the cylinder or lines from the pump.

Not leveling correctly but giving the correct "I'm level" response, which on my control pad is green lights, means it has "forgotten" where level is.

You can manually level - download your manual from Quadra. And, after manually leveling reset it's set point. After a few days see if it's torquing due to the leak you mentioned.

The fellows at Quadra are very responsive.

Given my original amateur installation "service" at RnRRV near Spokane WA, I'd avoid any dealership unless expressly recommended by the Quadra Bigfoot personnel - especially stay away from RnRRV. Sadly, their "BigFoot Specialist" (as stated by a sales rep) didn't know how to plug holes, run and secure wires, protect hydraulic hoses through bulkhead penetrations, clean up copious fluid leaks and metal chips all over batteries, use correct fasteners, clean paint before attaching ground connections or select correct terminal crimp-ons for a given stud size. Having said all that - after good dialog with Quadra Bigfoot personnel and a return visit to RnRRV where an ADULT watched over the second round of repairs we LOVE the BigFoot.

an installer that does a mediocre job reflects on the company he works for. even if its a quality product like bigfoot, a sloppy job of installing and servicing the system just leaves a bad impression. i see that often.
its a pleasure to watch a tech work when he is good at what he does.

Other than trying a manual leveling or calling Quadra I can't help much with the first problem. For the leaking cylinder, I just had one refurbished that was leaking internally. The jack would extend normally but once ground contact was made the problem jack, and what ever other jack it was paired with, would not extend any further. Once the fluid pressure built up to lift the coach it was linking past the piston and returning to the tank.

To fix my leak I bought a seal kit from Quadra, removed the jack and delivered it to a local hydraulic service shop. Two hour job to refurbish the cylinder and install the new seals @$125 an hour (local rate). Reinstalled and cycled the jacks to full length manually a few times to purge the air and the system was fully functional.

The shop I used here in southeastern Virginia - https://hydraulicservice.com/. Most of the shops in my area also have mobile service you could try if your repair budget supports and where ever you are camped will allow. Having the seals in hand will make the job easier for the tech and quicker for you. No reason to go to an RV service place and wait for weeks when you can go to a hydraulic shop that only works on hydraulics and be fixed in a few hours.
