Bike rack

Does anyone have a hitch mounted bike rack on the back of a 2014 newmar bay star 3124
If so which one
All the ones I have tried seem to be to close to the motorhome and the bikes rub on the coach
Thanks for any suggestions

Do yourself and us a favor by putting your MH and Toad information into your signature
This will really help in all your future posts, so you won't have to type it in each time.
You do this by:
1) Going to the top of this page and click the top left tab named “User CP”
2) Look at the menu on the left and scroll down to “Settings & Options” and click “Edit Signature”
3) In that text box type all the information about your MH, Year, model, length, mileage, any aftermarket extras installed, your toad and so on.

Are you towing a car? I have the Roadmaster split receiver rated for 10,000 lbs and the upper receiver is used for a bike rack. This will stand it off several more inches from the coach. Also, be aware that there are only a few bike racks rated for RV use. Found that out the hard way. Other option is to put the bike rack on your towed car. That is how I am currently doing it.

Mine is on the back of the towed. It can be a little in the way while putting things in and out of the rear hatch so I put the rear seat down. On our recent last trip didn't use the bikes.

My suggestion is to have a hitch put on your toad. That way you can take your bikes with you when you arrive at your destination. Now to the bike rack. We purchased a Swagman "XC 2-Bike Rack Platform Style for 1-1/4" and 2" Trailer Hitch" from etrailer. With this rack you can tighten the rack to the hitch to minimize the "bounce" as you are driving down the road. It also has the option to add a section so you can carry 4 bikes if needed. We also purchased Swagman's "Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable for Swagman Bike Racks w/ 1-1/4" & Combo Shanks - 7'" from etrailer to lock the rack and bikes.
