Black and Grey

Has anybody had blockage at water inlet when attempting to clean black and grey tanks so those water jets can do their job? Every time I attempt to connect hose to water inlet (not city water) and bypass the filter, I get leaking .. and this happens when valves are open.. What am I doing wrong or do I have a more serious problem?.
Need help .. thanks everyone!

Blockage of the tank cleanout sprayers is fairly common. Where is your leakage? Most of these cleanout sprayers have a vacuum break and a check valve in the line to prevent backflow. The vacuum breaks have been know to fail and leak. They are sometimes located inside the coach/trailer under a sink.

Posting the make and model of your RV would help diagnose.

Here is quick and dirty process to help clean the Black tank. When you go to break camp, go ahead and dump the Black tank. Now dump in some water, about 1/2 full. Add a cup of bath salts and a 1/4 cup of dish detergent. Oh yeah, also dump your ice into the toilet also, remember to flush it down. The ice will help break things up without damaging the tank. If you go ahead and add some more water to at at least to about 3/4 full this will help. Now drive home, this will allow the solution to slosh around in the tank and hopefully breakdown the stuff that is in there. The longer the drive the better. If you aren't heading home but going to your next camp ground even better. When you get there later that day or the next dump the Black tank and then attempt to hookup to the Black Tank Wash and see if you get any flow. Remember, you must be hooked up to drain with the Black Tank Drain Valve open. You will know if you are getting water in the tank if water starts to come out.
If you are going home with the solution in the tank, let it sit over night, then dump and rinse the tank.
The key to good clean Black tank is to always keep the drain valve shut when hooked up at an RV park and wait until it is almost full before emptying it. Then placing a couple bowls full of water back in it after dumping to ensure it's always wet so the TP won't dry out.
