Black coating on tow car

Today after driving my Winnebago Journey 380 Cummins several hundred miles I have light coat of a black powder evenly distributed on the front of the toad. It appears like it could be belt or tire powder rubbing off. It does not appear to be exhaust dives is even across the car. I can see any damage to belts. No apparant oil leaks. Drove in rain and tiny bit of snow yesterday. I wiped a spot off and then traveled more today to see if it continues to collect. It continued to accumulate. Not heavy just a fine small amount.
It is very even across the front of car. Not really oily. No smell to it.
Yesterday when I started out on very cold morning I did hear a squeal for a couple of minutes when I started up. Have driven about 700 miles since then.

Any clues what it could be.

This is a Def system exhaust. Has about 78,000 miles.

Bad fuel? Mountain driving (added engine strain & exhaust)? Can you see black smoke/soot in your mirrors? When was the last time you changed the fuel filters? Dragging brake (brake dust? how's your gas mileage? does the coach pull left/right?). Tire rub? Pre-filter exhaust leak?

Having your partner drive the coach w/you driving the TOAD may help point where it's coming from (engine, under the coach, wheels)?

Good luck

Could it be brake dust?

Flat driving, no pull, no change in mileage. No smell oil or brake. Seems to cleared up today. I think it must be something rubbing and creating dust. But what.? It I even across lower part of front of car. I can’t see anything underneath or from side access points. If it were exhaust it would be on exhaust side. Thanks for the ideas. I will keep looking. Parked for a few days

Pre filter exhaust leak is my best suspicion right now now

Maybe a regen occurred while you were driving. They don't always show up on the dash when the coach is at highway speed.

There is a symbol on the dash that shows that the engine is in regen. Do you remember see it come on. Can you do a forced regen, some rigs have that capability.

Never noticed any indication lights. I think anything coming out of the exhaust would have been more lopsided in its distribution on the car.

Wind can be swirling enough to spread evenly?

Hmmmmm, a lot of states pre sprayed the roads in anticipation of the storm. Could you have been driving in one of those states? And what you saw was the residue being kicked up by the Moho and landing on the car?

Well this is a possibility, but hat usually looks different, that usually has a white tint.
