My son-in-law sprayed his alloy wheels on his Silverado with black PlasticDip paint and I'm surprised how long it has lasted. Easy to use, spray on and peel off the overspray.

I've used Plasti Dip before , stuff is actually pretty good. Painted my golf cart with it . Next year if I want different color just peel it off in one big sheet , then spray a different color if I want. Does not wreck surface you spray it on. Make sure you spray 4-6 coats then it comes off in big sheets. See where some people take there shiny wheels on car and pickups coat them black for winter in salty snow country. In the spring peel it off and they have nice shiny wheels for summer. Might have to try the stuff on the wheels. If I don't like it peel it off.

If you're concerned about powder coating aluminum wheels I did that on my motorcycle. Turned out great, has held up for several years, and very easy to keep clean. BTY I went with black also.

The anodizing will fade if the wheels are stored in the sun. Typically, powder coated wheels hold up much better in this environment.

I had black wheels with chrome lug nuts for awhile but then repainted them silver with chrome lug nuts and black centers because it just looks better to me. I suppose it comes down to personnel preference.

Thanks! I wouldn't call it restored but I have put a lot of work into it. I'll quit hijacking the OP's thread now!

I guess it is a matter of tastes but I got to thinking....remember the days of yore when you wouldn't be caught dead running black wall tires on your car? That was only for cheap people or your grandmothers car. Everyone had white walls. Now you would look plumb silly running white walls. All things change....eventually!

Saw this Newmar London Aire for sale on Rvtrader. It's definitely a unique look for sure.
