Everyone has the occasional bolter, so no worries. Prolly a hook skip anyway. Next one will be an OK. Make sure you don't have too many LSO's giving you direction.

Thanks Coma. Found a 96 Dynasty, 34 feet but hasn't been driven much, the last 7 or 8 years. Been under a shed the last 4 years. New tires were put on in early 07, but essentially has been parked since than. The small little strings that protrude out from a new tire haven't been worn off. Now the question is, what is the risk involved in buying one like this? Some possibilities. Fuel tank could be full of growth as old diesel does, hoses could be rotten, would the suspension bushings rot or does it take wear to destroy them? How about the airbags? Belts ought to be changed. How about condensation of moisture in the engine, and potential rust there? It has been driven twice recently to show to potential buyers so it runs. Alt. lite stays on but states there is 13.5 volts to batteries. Considering all the above and the fact it is 12 hour drive or airline ticket I will pass.

Coma, that one might be a barricade trap for me. Sounds as if you have been there and done that, as they say. My barricade trap was nordo and on 27C, in the Tonkin Gulf, interesting to say the least.

Fortunately, no barrier traps. FID had to make about 25kts for a FOD'ed #1 on the CAT stroke.....

I'd go the other way, find one with a lot of miles. The house part is a cheap easy fix compared to the chassis/drive train. I replaced the 13 year old oven for about half of what a new alternator would cost. IMHO.
