Bounder 37U electrical problem
Our 2003 Bounder has been a charm since we bought it new in 2003. However, I now have an electrical problem with my 12 volt circuit. When the coach is on shore power, everything is fine except for the indash radio. When it is not on shore power, the steps don't work along with the wipers, readings on my EMS board, etc. I think it might be the inverter, but not sure. I did replace the TCS line to the inverter. The old one had broken off the flat line from the inverter. Which brings up another question. Should that line be connected to the positive terminal of one of the 6 volt batteries or left hanging on the side of the battery. A UTUBE video said do NOT connect it. The Xantrex instructions say to connect it.
All four house batteries and two coach batteries are at full charge. And, I am at my wits end with this thing.

Look at the BCC
Dig into your Battery Control Center (BCC). There may be a relay not working as required. There are circuits as you described that are controlled through the BCC. If a relay is malfunctioning it might be the cause of your issues. See the attached file for information on the RV Control Systems unit.

bounder 37U electrical problem
Thanks very much for your response! I am going to print all the pages and go searching for the "gremlin" that is causing my problem.
I was certain that by posting to this forum would get the result I needed.

There were two 12 volt ( push button ) circuit breakers in the BCC on my 08 Bounder. See them on bottom left of this photo.

Thanks, Cliff. Will check the breakers. Gotta get this solved before our next outing. The BW is getting antsy!

I'm a but confused - you say the wipers don't work on shore power? Of course - they are part of the vehicle (chassis) 12v system and powered by the engine 12v system. Ignition key must be on.
The entry steps are also powered from the engine/chassis 12v system, but those do not require the ignition key to be one.
Which model Xantrex inverter does this coach have? And is "TCS" the Battery Temperature Sensor (Xantrex calls it a BTS) or something different? Some inverters are equipped with a sensor designed to be connected to a battery terminal, while others are deigned to taped to the side, preferably between the batteries if there are multiples. My 2004 Xantrex RV2500 used the side-style BTS.

Bounder 37U electrical problem
Gary:
Thanks for the response. I went out to the coach to get the correct model of the Xantrex and it is a Freedom 458 Series, Freedom 20. Opened the door and the steps came out!! Turned the ignition key to ON and the wipers, mirrors, EMS lights came on...!! I didn't anything other than that.
I found the owner's manual and have read several procedures to perform which I will do shortly. According to the manual, the "loop" end of the Temperature Sensitive Charging (TSC) cable should be attached to the Positive post of one of the 6V batteries.
You said that several of the operations were off the 12V side.
Could it be that when the coach has been plugged in to shore power that the batteries are getting a full charge? I did install two new 12 V chassis batteries and then the problems began sometime after that. I marked each cable so that I could get them on the correct posts. I'm going to make sure all are tight.
Again, thanks for the info.

IF you replaced 6V batteries with 12V batteries and connected them the same way as the 6V were connected that will not work.
6V are connected in series 12V are parallel.

Bounder electrical problem
I replaced the two 12V batteries with two new ones. Didn't touch the 6V batteries.
