Brake Buddy vs Blue Ox Patriot

Is there anyone out there who has personally owned both the Brake Buddy and Blue Ox Patriot units to give me an unbiased opinion.

This is not about buying one over the other. Due to the acquisition of a new (used) MH, I find myself in possession of both.

I have been using the brake Buddy for years and like it very well. The Blue Ox looks good, but I haven't tried it.

I want to keep the best one and would like to hear from someone who has used both.

I have used a Patriot for over 6 years. The first one died due to a failed internal battery. Blueox would not send me a new battery and insisted it had to go back to the factory for repair. Since we were on the road to Alaska at the time this was not an option. As a compromise, Blueox sent a new unit prepaid to our next stop. I paid 2/3 the cost of a new one and they enclosed a return prepaid ticket for my old one. So that's the customer service part of my Patriot.

Now, the new one I've had for over 3 years and it has performed flawlessly. The new style claw that attaches to the brake pedal is very much improved over the old unit. The set up procedure is way better than the old one. It used to be kind of finicky to get set up. Now I just set it in place, hit the start button and bingo, we are in business. I set the gain at 3 (default is 5) and it does a great job.
It is fully proportional and adjustable to increase or decrease the sensitivity.

Now, as far as the Brake Buddy, I have not used one but I'm told it does not act as a fully proportional device and has been know to be over reactive causing excessive brake wear. I do not know this as fact. Only what I've read and been told. If you have used one, you are better equipped to answer this than I.
