Brake Lights come on EVERY day from 10AM to 2 PM in park, turned off
Help. I have an 89 Safari Serengiti that I am living in full time and it is parked forever (no money to repair a blown head gasket). All switches are turned off and the vehicle is turned off.
The rear, tail, brake lights come on every day from around 10 AM to about 2 PM. I have checked all fuses and switches and can not comprehend why they come on and turn off by themselves....daily.....other than maybe something paranormal?????
Has anyone else had this issue or knows of a solution?

Sure they are actually ON and it is just not the sun hitting them from 10 until 2?

Are you sure it is not the Sun reflection? You could always remove the bulbs.

yes, I questioned that myself (sun hitting it creating an illusion) as I thought I was imagining it.....but you can cup your hands over the brake light (to create shade ) and see that the light is actually on...on both sides. There are lights directly above these lights that do not come on. I have had neighbors verify this as well and we laugh everyday when we see them on. I am parked on land in which a double wide used to sit, in which the husband and wife both passed away and their 45 year old son is living directly behind the RV. I jokingly tell him that his family is trying to communicate with him.
These lights NEVER did this for the years that my vehicle was parked in my driveway....but since I moved to this lot in March.....the lights come on daily. At first, I thought the cats or dogs could have bumped the dashboard switch as I have seen them do this with the front lights and other switches......but NO switches are turned on......so, it is quite strange.

I would remove the bulbs or leave it alone as it creates a good conversation piece. However it may drain batteries. Then again if it has been doing this since March & your batteries just charge thru the normal system.

 Yes, a great conversation piece. It doesn't seem to be draining the batteries. It is every day without fail. I have never sat back there and timed the actual length the bulbs are lit...Have more things to do with my time...  But it is usually between 10 am and 2 pm ish.

If it is the brake lights, try pumping the brake pedal a couple of times. It could be pressure in the system building up in the heat of the day due to expansion.

I am like others here........take off the lens cover and actually look at the bulb lighting up. Many vehicle brake lights work with ignition off. So this power for brake lights would be coming from engine battery. What is keeping this battery charged for all this time? Maybe it is paranormal........  ..........ronspradley
