Change the breaker. They do wear out.

Are we talking about the breaker with the test and reset button ?
If yes, that's a GFCI and it trips due to a fault of current leaking to ground, not a short circuit.
If its a breaker in the breaker box, then you have a short on the wiring. Possably a cut up cable under any slides.

So GFCI breaker or conventional? Either way... if it trips on shore power, trips on generator... you have either a ground fault or a short. "Wearing out" a circuit breaker does happen but it takes dozens or hundreds of trip cycles. GFCIs, particularly the ones made more that a few years ago, also can eventually false trip... but most of what folks think are false tripping incidents are actually ground faults from a failing appliance, improper service wiring (ground and neutral bonded where it shouldn't be), or a failing outlet, cord, or wear-through of insulation due to abrasion. Can a GFCI just mysteriously fail? Yes, but it's not nearly as common as some will make it out to be.

it sounds like a short circuit but not for certain. these are just some thoughts.
unplug anything that is in those receptacles so there is nothing plugged in. then reset the breaker and see if it still trips. if it does it is probably in the wiring. if not it may be in the devices you unplugged.
this may or may not work. make sure all 120 volt power is off, completely disconnect from any shore or generator power. you might be able to use an ohm meter to confirm a short circuit. put the probes into the hot and neutral of slots of one of the receptacles. it should read no circuit. if you get some form of resistance measurement i would think that would indicate a short circuit, but not where.
you could try swapping the hot wire out of the circuit breaker with another one of the same rating to see if the problem is with the breaker.

Sound advice from Solo RV Guy. Assuming the breaker or GFCI is faulty is mostly wishful thinking.

Napoleon1949, exactly which breaker is tripping? Are you talking about the 30 or 50 amp breakers in the pedestal or the ones in the motorhome power panel?
To properly diagnose you really need a volt meter and an amp meter to see what your power is doing. Is the power going low voltage?

the circuit tripping is on the power panel, it is the one marked recepticle. I started the gen. to see if anything blow and noting did but still no power in the recepticles.. now i don't have any 120 power and none of the breakers are tripped, is there a main breaker somewhere else? thx

we checked the power to the breaker panel, all good then figured it might be the power line to the GCFI put ohm meter to ground and hot, dead short. ran a 12 wire from the GFCI to power breaker and everything works..frustrating but probably saved a 500.00 dollar bill if a MH machanic tried fixing it..thanks to all who responded, gave us different ways to go at this.. clyde

I had a similar issue and changed out my GFCI near the entrance door. It was 8 years old. These things do wear out. Can buy new at Home Depot. Solved problem.
