Brighter Reading Light Bulb

What can I use to replace the reading light bulb, #1139, for a brighter light? the 1139 just doesn't give me the light I want.

This post has your answer.

I buy most of my LEDs from superbrightleds.

For something really funky, look at these red/white switchable units, from marinebeam.

I prefer the warm white (2600K to 3000K) LEDs for interior use. To each his own.
