Motorhome was towed last night to a mechanic near Love's Truck stop near Three Rivers. I had advised him to call them and they recommended this guy. This place was under 10 miles from where breakdown occurred. Friend found a neighbor to check on his animals so all good there. Still looks like a fuel delivery problem. Thanks to all who offered help last night.

The rig may actually have 3 fuel filters.

Some 5.9's on Freightliner chassis had an in-line filter that some refer to as a "rock catcher". Follow the fuel lines from the tank to the water/separator filter and to determine if has one.

Some members have posted here that they discovered this filter/strainer and it had never been changed leading to a fuel starvation situation.

Here are the details:

Good luck to your buddy!

Thanks everyone. Heard from friend again this morning. He spent night in coach at mechanics place Mechanic found loose ground on fuel pump. Fixed. Wish I had this guy following me around when I am traveling in my coach. I am running very similar Cummins B 5.9 12 valve mechanical.

Great to hear it was a quick and hopefully light impact on the wallet
Thanks for closing the loop. Definitely one to file away in the memory bank for others down the road
