Buying used in the future

Hello all

I'm a first time poster. I've been cruising these forums for a while and have learned much from others experience.
My wife and I are thinking about trying a "semi full timer" life in a few years. This is snowbirds in the warmth during the winter and returning to upstate NY in the summer. My choice in motorhomes would be 40 or more with a tag axle DP. As I search units now the 8 to 10 year old coaches are in my price point 100k to 120k. Reading the forums I've noticed comments about quality falling off after a certain year i.e. Monaco after 2008 also some nice looking brands have gone away.
I'm thinking that in four years when we are in the window of making this move 2010 units will be in our price point. Can anyone make a suggestion on which manufacture did not struggle through this time period maintain quality and has anyone purchased a ten year old unit and rving ever since?

Every manufacturer struggled through that phase of the economy and many failed. Personal opinion is I would be leery of a 09-11 because of those failures and likely corner cutting taken. I'm happy with my 07 Itasca, on an 06 chassis, hope that I'm not faced with replacement for many, many, years.

In four years, if you want to remain in the 2010 era, look at:

-Newmar (Dutch Star/Mountain Aire or the two models above that, depending on what you want as far as bling!)

-Entegra's

-Foretravel

-American Coach

These were listed in no particular order.

And welcome to the forum!

Best,
Smitty

I agree with Smitty. Another option if willing to buy a bit older is to consider Monoco, Country Coach, and Travel Supreme all of which were high end build.

I bought a 2000 Holiday Rambler DP in 2011. Full timing for 3 years, hope to go 10 more.
