If you have a video camera, go out and look at the infrared lights through the camera. Infrared will show as white light on a video camera. I used to demonstrate to my students the blinking pattern of an infrared TV remote using the camera. Then the students would try to duplicate the blink pattern with an infrared LED and a push button I had set up. True infrared is invisible to human eyes, if you are seeing red, maybe your LEDs are bad.

I have my video camera on the kitchen counter, but I'm watching Betty White's "Off Their Rockers" right now. I'll run out next commercial.

"I guess if there was something on the lens it would reflect the IR back into the camera. Any chance you left the plastic film on the lens they use to protect it in shipping."
We got this new in February...I'm not real impressed with my dealer or Monaco or myself. If I had crawled under the coach, looked under every hatch, and inspected it with a microscope, and looked to see if any shipping film was left on, I wouldn't have taken it. We ordered it at the Hershey show in September, and It was built and driven across country in a snow storm. The under carriage and almost all of the black frame work was poorly painted and is rusting; which Monaco is looking at to take care of....but I degresse...I will look tomorrow when it is light to see if there is anything covering the lens, guess I should have thought of that.

Owww owww owww... I'm too old to move this fast.
They're on whenever the camera is on. Day or night mode. Are the supposed to be on all the time?
Amazing... Thanks for the tip, Bob.

My security camera outside of my house door is red at night, and I don't have the problem...

Is it only one light? Maybe it is to scare would-be thugs off.

Mine has a hood over it. I had to use some needle nose to loosen the aiming bolts so I could aim it at my trailer ball. Makes it easier to hook up the trailer by myself.
Does your's have a hood with screws holding it on? Mine is also silicone sealed around the hood and I didn't want to break the seal.

I'm not sure I would want a red light outside my home. Draws in some questionable folks.

I can adjust the brightness and contrast to get about the same picture in both day and night mode. How can I tell what mode I'm in, or does it matter?
