I have to agree with this opinion. We travel with our two everywhere! You'll find most CG with snowbirds in Fl have their pets with them, makes for good introductory conversations! Take Sam!!!

If we left "Mack - The Killer Cockapoo" at home, I'd have to spend a bunch of money for a GPS...................

We take our 3 with us everywhere, 2 - 110# Rottweilers and a 80# Doberman. I could never leave them home, that is why we got our motorhome . . .

we traveled with our 3 rescued retired racing greyhounds and they loved it but sadly they are all gone now. your four legged friend will be just fine. heck the dogs was one of the bigger considerations for buying an RV so we could take them with us

The OP is getting inundated from us animal folks, he/she didn't post in the pet section to keep us from doing what we are doing.

Shame on us. I feel to blame.

OP: I apologize about trying to push you into taking Sam.

But even though I recognize my failure in this matter, I still hope and pray you will 'suck it up' and take him with you.

Please let us know what you decide/decided and PLEASE post pictures of Sam?

Ok, my last post here, I promise, but before I go, I have to show you pics of the pups on trips....they love to GO!

Thanks for all the responses. FWIW, Sam is going. A couple of things come to mind regarding this. When we were looking for a MH we kept seeing adds that said " no smoking, no pets" which led me to believe if you smoked or had pets in the MH it adversely affected the resale or ability to sell the coach. It seemed to me that there were a lot of folks who did not take pets but according to input here on this topic, everybody takes a pet.
I was looking for some responses on the negative side of taking a pet as well as the positive but the dog haters didn't respond.

I would not think twice about leaving him home. We purchased our coach and the floor plan based on our dogs ! They are family and go everywhere with us.
And we are talking Great Danes ! Lol.

We have always traveled with our dogs, when we had our travel trailers and the motorhomes. To address the concerns:

1. we use a 'furminator' to brush them at least every other day which helps with shedding. Otherwise, a good little vacuum takes care of keeping things nice in the coach.
2. when we want to sight-see or otherwise be away from the coach, we try to limit leaving them to no longer than 6 hours. We leave a TV on and they sleep. We have a crate that we used when they were young but we don't make them go in the crate.....we leave it open and one of them usually will use it, sometimes both of them sleep in there.
3. we walk them several times daily and always try to find RV parks with fenced dog runs or a local municipal dog park.

Sure, so can your cats!
We always took our dogs before they passed. Now it's the cats (all 6 of them) although the DW still would like a dog too.

When we were searching for a coach, all the dealers stated no smoking and no pets. It is quite humorous. Just like others we bought out coach specifically so that the dogs can go with us. After some time with our coach we saw obvious signs the previous owner had dogs. They left their rawhides under the passenger side slide. We found some chew marks here and there as well.
