Tough part is, everytime we start getting some sort of recovery going, one or another segment tries to get all thiers back in one big lump.

I deal a lot with graphic arts products, film and plates, lights sensitive silver based stuff. The price increases we have weathered the past year are beyond the pale. Very tough on the ultimate. User, and squashed profit margins every step of the way.

maybe when the price gets high enough to crash the economy again, those speculators will jump out a window when they lose there accounts/jobs
Roger that!

If the Speculators cannot take delivery on the product purchased then they should not be able to purchase it!

Hi Chief Dave,
ottffss posted the best answer to high tire prices. The FMCA price may the best way to go. My tires are the same size as your tires. I just got two tires for the price ottffss posted.

I totally agree. We need a national strike too so everyone of the 99% can force the stop of speculation by the 1%. You buy and sell future contracts on ANYTHING you take delivery of it too! Then again the greedy SOBs would find something else to gouge us with. I own a small business and am a hard working "capitalist", but I don't gouge or mistreat my customers. I'd rather treat them like I want to be treated. Pity big business and speculators don't have those kind of morals...

Nothing to do with shipping costs or oil price for that matter
There has been a shortage of raw rubber product for over 12 months
Following that the mining industry is going crazy world wide and they demand a lot of rubber tyres at $25000 each
As an australian reseller of name brand tyres there is a shortage.
I'm guessing there is a shortage here too
Add it all up and you get higher prices driven by the manufacturers
