Carefree awning questions

Does anyone know if this knob is easily replaced? It seems to be stripped and just spins rather than loosen or tighten.

Also there is a yellow strip light in a channel that doesn't work or even seem to plug into anything, is it possible to remove or replace this with one that works? And is it easily done or do I need to take it to a shop?

Thanks for the replies, I also need to know if there is an easy way to get access to the backside of whatever the knob threads into? It is stripped and I can neither tighten or loosen it enough to remove it

On my awning I have a light that has a stretchy cord that plugs into the side of the porch light. When I first searched for the light power the little power outlet had a cover glued over it. I never use the light because you need a ladder to reach the plug and the wire is so old the insulation fell off.

You could try pushing hard on the knob as you turn it in or pull on the metal arm to get it pasted the stripped area. I am not sure how it comes off, maybe taking it off so the arms become legs and remove the bolt and see if it will slide off the bottom. Have you tried calling Carefree?
Good luck
