Cargo Bay Door Latch Broke and Wonít Open

Hello friends!
OK. I have a 2009 Fleetwood Bounder (workhorse). i went to open the bay door for my propane tank and I felt something give way and now I canít get the door open. Iím in the middle of nowhere and running on propane fumes.
Itís the deluxe type latch. No lock. The catch on the right side still works, but the one on the left wonít move. Iím not lucky enough for it to have an adjoining compartment that I could open and release the stuck latch. Thereís the wheel well on the right and the entry door on the left, so no shortcuts to be had.
Does anyone know how to open a door that has a broken or stuck latch?
My tank is all but dry and if I run out of propane all my food will go bad.
I attached a pic on the affected door and latch. Any help would be a huge help right about now.

Thanks all -

Crawl underneath the edge of body and look up there may be a ubolt that the latches locks onto undo the two bolts and with wiggling and pulling may get the door open

The propane tank bays are open air bays, you should be able to crawl under and release the latch.

If yours has a striker that goes down to latch you might be able to drill a hole up from the bottom and use a screw driver to release the latch. I had to do that to one of my latches when the electric solenoid wouldn't unlatch it and the key wouldn't turn it.

A slim piece of metal like a hacksaw blade can be slipped in to the affected latch which then you can push the angle catch out of the way and open the hatch. Has worked for me anyway.

We were a Fleetwood dealer. This is a common problem. You are lucky. This is the open compartment. That means it does not have a bin surrounding it. Get a flashlight crawl under the motorhome. The plastic plunger broke off in the catch. Work it out with a small screwdriver. DO NOT go back with the plastic latch. Replace with a metal one.

So I crawled up under the RV, and with no small amount of effort, I was able to reach around the tank valve guard and remove the 4 screws on the latch cover (and 10% of the skin on my right forearm) and imagine my surprise when I pulled on the latch rod and it didn’t release. The spring tension was there, so I knew the latch was still connected. Turns out that the plastic plunger had fractured beyond the door edge, and because it fit so tightly, there wasn’t enough room to let it fall away and allow the door to open.
It’s all good in the end. The right latch will hold the door closed well enough to drive and I can finally get some propane! I think I might even have a replacement latch in here somewhere.
