Cargo capacity

Quick question. In looking at Class A gassers, my search turned up a Winnebago Vista LX 35F with the yellow sticker on the door for cargo not to exceed 4006 lbs. This is on a 22k chassis.

On a Tiffin Allegro 32 SA, also has a 22k chassis but the cargo rating is 1399.

For identical chassis, these are two markedly different numbers. Can someone educate me please?

Cargo capacity is the weight between the RV as built minus the axle capacity. If the chassis capacity is 22k, and the RV is weighed to be 20K, you'd have 2K in cargo capacity. Also water and gas must be considered, so it could be even more limiting. How many slides on the Tiffin compared to the Winnie? One of many heavy items that might be the difference.

Each has a long slide on the drivers side and then each has one for the bed. Almost identical floorplans.

First, make sure you are comparing carry capcity apples to apples. CCC, OCC are different, and the format of Tiffin's sticker in the closet has changed over the years.

Most 32SAs are on the 24k chassis as well. The 32SA on the 22k chassis is going to be a bit low on the carry capcity; the 24k chaissis nets you ~1,500#s of carry capacity as the chassis itself weighs ~500#s more than the 22k chassis.

My "old style" Tiffin weight sticker as found in the back wall closet can be found in post 6 of this thread, along with more thoughts / details (and examples of the newer Tiffin weight stickers) within the thread.

The chassis is identical but the stuff inside that makes the difference.
Mine 22k Ford chassis minus the stuff on it leave 3,011 lbs of cargo lbs. available.

The things that can change it would be the amount of slides, residential refrigerator, tile Flooring, etc.
