Carlisle Syntec BritePly

2002 Georgie Boy Landau here. Itís about due for TLC on the roof.

No leaks (that Iíve been able to detect) - we just bought this coach in January.

Wondering what to do. You can see some darkening in some areas, nothing severe.

Anyone have some suggestions? Iíve seen all the commercial adís such as CrazyCoat - not real sure about them.

Thanks!

Dicor is the distributor for Carlisle's Brite-Ply EPDM and has a set of products recommended for care of it. See their Brite-Ply page at https://dicorproducts.com/product/di...ubber-roofing/ and view the CARE tab.

If the dark areas bother you, the roof can be coated with any of the major EPDM roof coat products and that will make it bright white again.

Thanks Gary! I guess really, thatís what I was asking - for me a 20 year old roof that to the best of my knowledge has lived itís life in Texas probably needs some TLC.

I had been to that link but it doesnít really say much about aged membranes. My opinion is UV can be a silent killer if you donít take care of it - with my major concern being the membrane tears the results of aging.

As mentioned above, in looking at the various coatings - Iím getting more and more impressed with ďLiquid Roof MagicĒ over ďHenryísĒ (not to say Henryís is a bad product).

Was just ing wanting to hear what others experience was like and what they used before I dive into this renovation. 😀

The white top layer of the roof is cosmetic - the waterproof part is the rubber backing layer. As long as that is intact and the seams sealed, it doesn't leak. Coating a 20 yo roof is proactive - it's gonna develop a leak sometime. If you are worried, then now is the time to do it. With the product of your choice.
