Looking for recommendations for repair of a Cat C7 in a DP in the San Antonio, TX, area. This is more than maintenance.

TIA

Lots of blowby from the slobber tube when the engine is under load. And it has been getting worse over the last several thousand miles. 2005 C7, 85K miles, Freightliner Custom Chassis, side radiator. Loosing a lot of oil out the slobber tube now (~gal/100 miles). I guess I’m looking more for repair shop recommendations than trying to guess what the problem could be.

Two diagnostic questions that are easy, then hopefully someone with first hand experience with the Caterpillar dealer in San Antonio can comment:

Have you verified that the oil level is not too high? Over-filling will absolutely cause excessive blowby.

Have you verified that the oil has not been thinned out with diesel fuel?

Holt has been the Caterpillar dealer in San Antonio for a very long time:

Yes on overfilling. After a couple hundred miles, oil pressure started to drop on uphills. Stopped and the oil level no longer even showed on the dipstick.

Previously, it always was about half way between add and full on the dipstick. Would add only a couple of quarts between oil changes.

I had work on my coach performed at Holt Caterpillar--have a Cummins but Holt Cat is also a Spartan chassis certified repair center. Very happy with the chassis work they did and would not hesitate to have them work on my engine, especially if it were a Cat.
