What are the false readings. On my Newmar, the sensors are placed on the exterior of the tank. I'm guessing your Baystar is the same. If you can look and see them, check to make sure one hasn't fallen off. They're about an inch square with a big "X" in the center. There should be three of them, 1/3, 2/3 and Full.
If I recall, you can place your thumb over the "X" and you should get a reading. Thumb over the middle one and the tank should read 2/3rds.

One of the best upgrades I have made was to install Sealand tank sensors & guages.
Two years and flawless performance with many more increments from full to empty.
I got tired of false and inaccurate reading from the OEM.
The Sealand sensors are strips that go on the outside of the tanks.

Take a look at the SeeLevel 709 system I installed one last year on my coach, and since then no more issues with tank monitor (except when an tool box damaged one of the sensors strips)

Agree w/ DSDon
You don't have a profile or mention yr Bay Star but my '13 Ventana has external ones like Don mentioned and they work very well.
I'd do a good tank flush / clean before going to a lot of work. Crud stuck to inside of tank may affect the sensors.
Action may also depend on whether you get false Hi readings or False Lo readings.

I agree. Tank maintenance is the key to keeping these sensors reading correctly. As an experiment, try using Happy Campers for a while. I think you will find it improves all aspects of your holding tanks.
I don't own a bolt in the product but have used it for years and would not switch to any other.
