I'm having a bit of a hard time deciphering your post here. You say you were returning from a weekend trip and, you got a "low charge rate" warning, correct? And, you say it was 12.5V but, you say in the same sentence, it produced 12.7-12.9. Hmmmm. So, if you're on flat ground and using moderate throttle, are you getting 12.5? But, at idle, you see 13.2 - 13.4.
Now, you say your belt is just over a year old, correct? Does this mean you actually checked the present tension it, when all this is/was happening? If so, was/is it tight? Is your 3126 starting like it always does? Slow, normal, what? Are your house batteries up to par after a days cruising?
