Chassis inspection

Hi all, in my search for a pusher I've come across a garage kept 2003 National Tradewinds with only 17,000 miles on it in Brooksville Fl. It has a 330 horse Caterpillar on a Spartan chassis and I'd like to have engine, tranny and suspension components thoroughly inspected and tested. The only service center locally is Register Chevrolet and RV center. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them pro or con. Hopefully I won't need to go to Tampa or Ocala to get it checked out.
Thanks, Stan

Maybe call Anthony's Mobile RV Service near you and ask if they do on site inspections. They probably do.

Alliance Coach isn't far away (Wildwood) and its an authorized Spartan Chassis service center.

You don't need an RV dealer for a chassis inspection; a truck service center is often a better choice anyway. Try the ones in this search:

I agree that you'd ideally want to use a place that does truck chassis repair and maintenance. That Chevrolet and RV dealership may (or may not) do simple oil changes and/or maintenance on a diesel pusher but dealerships like that are usually not staffed to perform any "meaningful" chassis work on a DP. Their focus would probably be more on the "house" portion of the coach.

I too have recommended Alliance Coach to others. That would be an option for you to consider.

However, I have in my notes that a small "hole-in-the-wall" place there in the Brooksville area has a very good reputation and they work on semis and motorhones along with repairing cars and pickups. The name is Dons Truck and Auto Service. They're on Ponce De Leon Blvd (HERE on Google SV)

Facebook page HERE

You might give them a call to see if they can accommodate what you want before making the trip out of town. (352) 544-5807

edited to add: I just looked at the Register RV website and they actually do perform chassis work. Since I've never used them or have even heard of them, I'll leave it to others to comment on their reputation pertaining to their service department.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies, I called register and they recommended Ring Power. Called them and was told they will inspect and test the chassis and fluids for about an hour of labor. I'm familiar with them from working in an industry that uses heavy equipment and they always were a great company so think that's where I'll head. The coach systems, roof etc. I will use one of the recommended Repair guys.
Thanks again, Stan
