Choice Protection Plan

We are having quite a time with our warrenty company, which is Choice Protection Plan.

We have an Alfa Gold and are having trouble with the Hydro-Hot unit. We left it with Camping World thinking they could take care of the entire process. Now - almost 2 months later - we are being asked for maintenance records. During the 2 month period - we have made numerous calls to Camping World with various promises of calling back - never to get a call back - and when we called to check on the progress of our case - we never spoke to the same person - and the person we spoke to, did not know what was going on! So now we are at a point where they are saying that Choice Protetion Plan wants our maintanence records. What are they looking for? Do they want to know that there has never been a problem with the unit until now, or do they think we should have done some kind of maintanence that we did not know we were supposed to do?

Has anyone had this problem? I would appreciate any comments and help you can give.

Thank you, Spiritfed

They are looking for a reason to deny your claim. They want your maintenance records to see if all of the required maintenance has been preformed.

Good Luck,
Jon

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry you're having problems with your extended warranty company but if you care to use the search feature of our forum you'll find it's not all that unusual for many EW companies to look for reasons to decline a claim.

Did you buy the policy from CW? Have you dealt directly with the EW company? Have you asked them what maintenance records they need and why they need them? Is there required maintenance on an Auqa Hot system?

I think I would be in the face of the salesperson who sold me the policy... especially if you bought it at CW. I'm sure they promised something like "bumper to bumper, worry free" travel.

We've had our EW policy for >5 years now and have been very happy with them but we were lucky to get a good company.

Best of luck.

Rick

Looks like a few others haven't been happy either:

I would be worried. If the warranty company asked for maintenance records, it probably means that there is some "required" maintenance in the Hydro Hot owner manual and they are looking for a reason to deny coverage. They know that few people do all the things recommended in the operator manual, so that's an easy out.

And while it sounds as though CW has given you shoddy service, they aren't the one who is the problem at this point.
