Exclamation Clearance Lights (1997 Safari Trek)

If you happen to have experience with this issue.... I could sure use some direction.
I lost my clearance lights recently and thought this would be pretty straight forward as I have spent many hours troubleshooting electrical issues.
Normally for DC circuits I remove the load and check to see which terminal is ground and which is 12V. One will be missing and then the fun begins.
My problem is after removing one of the lights..... both of the connections go to ground? Sounds like a short, just not sure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, usually on this coach there is 12V to the load and you switch the other terminal to Gnd.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I suspect this issue may involve the ICC switch which reverses the connection function for the clearance lights. If you don't have it I think the wiring diagram for the lights is available on the Trek Tracks message board files section.

The pos wire after the switch or relay will be going to ground through every bulb on that circuit. The little resistance in the bulbs is a kind of short to ground that burns the bulbs. So there just may be a bulb on circuit in line before where you are testing. If you have a true short you will have to remove bulbs on that circuit to look for it properly. Are you blowing fuses . Are you getting 12v pos on the circuit.
