Coach batteries overcharging

Have a 2003 Damon Challenger.
Replaced 2 6 volt coach batteries. Now they have overcharged twice! Thought it was a fluke or something. Added water. Recharged them then reinstalled them
Plugged into 30 amp at campground. Found the batteries boiling.
What causes that and how do i fix it?

When you hooked your batteries up did you install them in series or parallel?
If you hooked them pos to pos ,neg to neg you made them a 6 volt bank which means your converters trying to charge a6volt battery bank wit 13
6 volts

The batteries need to be hooked pos from one the negative on the other. The other negative and positive post will hook to the house pos and neg accordingly.

If it hooked up properly then you need to check what your converter is putting out to the batteries it should be between 13.6 and 14.5 volts .I am not sure where your converter is in your unit but is either part of your distribution center, behind it ,or in a cabinet or storage compartment near you batteries

Simplest explanation is that the batteries are miswired, 6v in parallel instead of series. Guaranteed overcharge.

Yup, incorrect wiring would be first suspect (charging a 6 VDC battery as if it were a 12 VDC battery).

If that isn't it, you will need to let us know what converter, charger or inverter/charger ou are using.

what power center/convertor does your coach have?
I don't gamble but I want to bet it's a magnetek which are known to cook batteries.

If not miswired, the charger could have been left on equalization mode.

If you have an inverter/charger, it's BTS ( Battery Temp Sensor ) may be bad.

Easy test is to unplug it, charger defaults to 77° F.

When my Xantrex BTS went bad, it was floating the battery bank @ 14.2VDC. I simply unplugged it and left it that way. Now the float is 13.3VDC
I am not replacing the BTS.

The inverter has a box that says WIZARD.
What should that do? Green or flashing?
Checked and batteries charge too fast when motorhome is plugged in.
Ideas?

It’s an add on device for a Progressive Dynamics battery charger that turns it into a “smart” or three stage charger.

Do you have a voltmeter? If not, go buy one. Every RV owner should have one.

With the coach not plugged in, what is the voltage of the battery bank?

With the coach plugged in, what is the voltage?

Let’s get some data and the diagnosis of the problem will be based on facts and not guesses.

If you have a charge wizard, you have a converter/charger. That's not an inverter.

We have a Intelipower 9100. It has a Wizard on the side which I think is an add-on.
Got new battery. 12V Deep cycle marine and RV battery.
When installed in the motorhome and motorhome is plugged in it almost immediately begins to overcharge.
Do I need a new Intelipower 9100? It worked fine since we have had it for 9 years. Do they fail?

Remember this started with replacing 2 6volts that seemed to have frozen after a cold winter. Replaced with 2 6 volt golf cart batteries that overcharged twice.
Now have 12volt deep cycle marine rv Interstate Battery. It began to overcharge immediately.
Could the problem be anything other than the Intelipower 9100? I can buy another one for $365. Should I?
