We are looking at getting into the Class A lifestyle and getting away from our current 5th wheel set up. We are looking at buying new or very gently used because of certain features in the newer coaches.

With the sizable outlay to purchase a top of the line coach, is it necessary to garage them for storage in the Phoenix, AZ area? Will covered storage be adequate? We currently have our 5th wheel in a covered spot due to the harsh AZ sun and the face that it has a rubber membrane roof. Not sure if this is a concern with the higher end fiberglass roofs and exteriors on coaches like the Newmar and Allegro Bus.

We are snow birds from the Poconos in PA. Just recently bought port home in Fl. Last coach was a 013 40'er, never saw inside, or covered. Know east coast is far different than the AZ sun and heat. I think that if you treat the roof with protective coating, you should be fine. That may be needed semi/annually. Think the heat and dryness would hurt the flexible window/slides more

I would definitely store under cover, you have a big investment and Arizona sun is very hard on paint, rubber, fabric etc..

The southern sun is tough on any material, plus most fiberglass roofs are painted and the paints fades/chalks in intense sun. I'd have it under a roof if practical, but do not consider it a "must". All our Rvs sat in Florida sun (but partially shaded) when not in use and didn't suffer too badly. The fiberglass roof coach needed to have the roof repainted after about 10 years, and I did that myself in one afternoon, using a brush and Dicor Fiberglass Roof paint.

We are in Lake Havasu City and only here from Oct to mid May. After three seasons here, I'm putting up an RV port this year to offer some protection from the sun. It's not just the exterior that is exposed, but the interior can get extreme when the temp reaches 100 plus. I can only imagine how intense the interior heat can get in continuous days of 100-110 degrees. Nothing good can come from anything, especially a $3-400,000 motorhome, sitting in extreme heat and sun.
