I have one and have used it a couple of times to verify check engine light codes. Works as advertised, unlike one of the very expensive models that couldn't read the codes on my motorhome.

I purchased this unit. when I tried it it gave me a message: confirm that your vehicle is OBD11 compliant. Its a 2005 Mountain Aire with a Cummins 400 ISL, any thoughts?

OBD2 is used for automobiles (gas). The diesels use a J1939 interface. Many Scanners will have a built in OBD2 cable and use an adapter cable for the truck (diesel) interface.

Possibly you are not connected to the diesel before the scanner on.
Or maybe you got an ODB2 only scanner.
