Nah, the panel covering the start capacitors is metal. Fire would go out. How do I know. I have the Coleman Mach 6535 Basement AC Woke up to it cycling on and off. Shut it down, Next morning I opened up the case and the top inch had burnt right off.
Yup, sometime these things are scary.
