Welcome to iRV2 .

Is your coach on a Workhorse P32 chassis ?

If not can you add the chassis manufacturer and year of your coach to help you get better answers .

The yellow painted parts are steering control, aftermarket add ons , " Safety Steer" is one brand name for these aftermarket parts . But there are other brands .

Item 2 is a steering damper to make the steering less touchy in cross wind situations such as when a semi blows past you.

Item 1 better pictures are needed can't tell exactly what it's mounted to.

Well item #2 clearly has part # embossed on it.. re climb under and use cell phone with camera and flash and record p#.. then i got mine at auto parts store .. takes 15mins and basic tools.. steering damper.. I believe.. not sure.. what or which part you want in picture # 1..
Also.. I can't see the year or model of your chassis.. so to get better opinions.. please tell us.. and welcome to IRV2..
Good luck and let us know what you did and maybe better members then me will help you

Item #2 is not.. safety steer.. it is a blistein part.. and you call it steering damper.. not safety steer.. the part is OEM chassis part.. not added on.. which would be safety steer.. totally goes in different spot..
Cheapest to wipe down with towel and take p# to auto parts store
Good luck and keep us posted

As Ski426 said, pic 1 is a Steer Safe. Supposed to help you maintain control incase of a front tire blowout.

Opinions vary as to its effectiveness.

The Steer Safe is also often installed to cover us the effects of worn parts in the steering system as it keeps them under constant tension the effects of worn bushings, is masked by it presence.

I've been RVing for may years so don't consider myself a newb. I certainly don't know everything there is to know about RVs but the item in the OP's first image is something I had never seen before. Oh, and ours is a P32 chassis.

Looks like Skip426 nailed it but it just doesn't look like it would be all that effective.

Don ; for item number 2 in the OP's posted photos , you were correct , a steering dampener , in that location is factory , being yellow in the photo I thought it would have been part of the Steer Safe kit . The yellow dampener is a replacement but not part of the kit .
As you mentioned probably Blistein .

The day we don't learn something new, is the day they close the lid on our coffin.
