Compressor can bairly air up the tires

I topped of the air in my coach tires yesterday. It was all my compressor could do to add 10 PSI to the tires. A couple were at 70PSI. Its an old 15 gallon "Wards" compressor with a max of 100 PSI. I have been thinking of upgrading to a Sears 150 PSI compressor that can produce 6.5 SCFM at 90 PSI, most likey double my current compressor. Should I expect better performance with this compressor or will it still take forever to air the tires? I am looking at Sears as the 33 gallon/150PSI compressor is only $288 and I mostly use it to air up tires and operate air tools.

The story on compressors is size matters. I have a Husky compressor, bolted to the floor of a basement compartment. 17 gallon tank with 5.6 @ 40 PSI and 3.8 @ 90 PSI. 150 PSI at the hose. My front tires take 95 PSI and the rears take 85 PSI. The compressor fills them quickly. It works as advertised and I would purchase the same compressor again (Lowes).

Hey BRL, I have a SEARS 15 Gal., 150 PSI compressor. It has a control for the max PSI output. If I set that at about 110# with 150 PSI in the tank it will top off to 95# in short order. I was told to set the Max output PSI at the the pressure I wanted, but it would only come within 5# of that setting. You have to go at least 15# over or it will take forever to air the tires.
