Confusing speed rating Michelin RV tire chart 275/70R 22.5 LRJ

The last thing we need is another tire question but after hours searching did not see a thread specific to this.

Michelin has a 2021 pdf called “THE MICHELIN® RV TIRE GUIDE” and on the last page shows it is updated Feb 2022.

You may have to fill out contact info to download it. https://www.michelinb2b.com/wps/b2bc...s_Brochure.pdf

The entire guide has RV somewhere on every page. On page 19 for 275/70R 22.5 X Multi Z tire with Load Range ”J” Max speed is 75mph. Top of page has Regional / RV.

In the same guide, on page 27 is a chart with the LR J (Load Range) and speed symbol. It shows 62 mph.

My tires have the LR J branded on them. Both tire data from the guide are for the same load range of “J”.

Question: So which ‘max speed’ is correct? I have a call in to Michelin.

Pictures of those pages below, highlighted for you.

Thanks for any info.

You are confusing the Load Range symbol with the Speed Rating symbol. The “LR J” indicates a load range, not a speed rating. Short discussion on heavy truck tire load ranges here: https://www.sttc.com/ply-rating/?amp
